My contact at Toyo wants to know the preferred R9S tire for the 2010 POC season. I told him it would likely be RA1. Can't imagine anyone would want the R888 now that the RA1 is back. If I'm wrong, let me know quick. Otherwise I'll tell him the RA1 is the tire of choice.
Oh, and I asked about season points championship payout. Unfortunately, Toyo is unable to accomodate at this time. But they will continue to give Toyo bucks for individual races like they have in the past.

Todd,
Everyone I have talked to is running RA-1s after they use up their 888s. I would say that we continue on like last year. You can run either RA-1s or 888s.
NASA has switched to RA-1s and is allowing 888s to be run in the first 3 events. I am sure Tim C. will extend the running of 888s further into 2010 so anyone with 888s can use them at NASA races.

I did use the new RA-1 today. Shaved to 4/32" and it was fast. Made the 47th week of 09 so it is the new tire.
Only has 3 heat cycles as of today so will see how the tread wear and longevity goes.
